Eddie's Music Background


  Eddie Buchanan provides the beat for country artist, Tony Jackson! Tony Jackson exploded on to the country scene, with his video, “The Grand Tour,” which grabbed more than 30 million Facebook views! Tony’s self-titled, debut album was released in 2017 with its lead single, “Old Porch Swing,” gaining 1 million Facebook views in the first 24 hours!    Tony Jackson quickly earned the respect of the music community, featuring songs and/or performances on the album by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members John Sebastian, Steve Cropper and Dr. John “Mac” Rebennack, Country Music Hall of Famers Vince Gill, Bill Anderson and Conway Twitty and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame luminary Norro Wilson.   

Tony Jackson is now out on the road in support of the breakout album with Eddie laying down the groove! Playing drums since the age of 8, Eddie hails from a family of musicians with a long history in traditional country music. Starting out playing country/gospel music in churches, he progressed to be a top-call touring drummer along the east coast. Eddie is well versed in traditional playing styles, and leveraging modern technology with platforms such as Ableton Live and drum programming.   

Eddie's Fire Department Background


Eddie Buchanan began his fire service career in 1982 and is a division chief with Hanover Fire & EMS in Richmond, VA. He is a past president of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors and is the 2015 recipient of the George D. Post, Instructor of the Year Award from the ISFSI. He serves on the executive advisory board of Fire Engineering Magazine and FDIC and is author of the Volunteer Training Officer's Handbook from Pennwell Publishing. He serves on the NFPA Technical Committee on Fire Service Training and the newly formed NFPA 1700 Committee. He is a past board member of the Volunteer/Combination Officer's Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and serves on a variety of advisory boards and committees for the fire service industry.  Chief Buchanan has an Associates Degree in Fire Science from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and a Bachelors Degree from the University of Richmond in Human Resources Management.
